The former England and Chelsea captain John Terry has signed for Championship club Aston Villa

The former England and Chelsea captain John Terry has signed for Championship club Aston Villa, the club’s owner confirmed on Monday via twitter

After spending 22 years at Chelsea, Terry left the Premier League champions (2016/2017) at the end of last season but was not ready to retire from the game. After interest from various clubs including Premier League sides Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City, Terry finally opted to join Steve’s Bruce’s side.

The decision ends Terry’s 19 consecutive seasons in the Premier League, all with Chelsea, and he will appear in England’s second flight for the first time since a six-game loan with Nottingham Forest in 2000.

After being relegated form the Premier League in 2016, Aston Villa had a disappointing season in the Championship finishing in 13th, 18 points off a play-off place and 32 points off league winners, Newcastle.
What’s your reaction to John Terry’s option . Do you think he made a right choice or he tried to avoid playing against Chelsea in the Premier League
